Sardinia  is a large island in the Mediterranean to the west of Italy.

It has a mountainous interior and a famed coastline with turquoise waters which attracts tourists from all over the world every year.

The island is a region of Italy, and Paolo lives in  its regional capital, Cagliari which islocated on the southern coast.

Cagliari is an ancient city with a long history, that has seen the rule of several civilisations.

Today the city is a regional cultural, educational, political and artistic centre, known for its diverse Art Nouveau architecture and several monuments.

After a long break from the radio hobby, Paolo has been back on frequency for a couple or years.

Repairing his own radio equipment is part of his passion :

he owns about 20 vintage CB radios.

Among them, a Zodiac M5026, aTokai PW5024, a Galaxy Saturn, some transistorised  amplifiers,  two SSBTuners, some SDR receivers and a SDR QRP transceiver,a studio microphone with a little mixer.

He has some SDR receivers and one SDR qrp transceiver.

Paolo is an experienced electrical technician who is capable to build a transceiver from  scratch and carry out repairs to other radio related equipment.

Searching for parts in various auctions is also part of his enjoyment.

When Paolo is not in his radio shack using a screwdriver or a soldering iron, you will find him in the kitchen cooking a delicious pizza or some other mediterranean dishes =)

He is a keen cyclist and also enjoys jogging.
